What is TÖMER?


TÖMER is a center which prepares programs to teach Turkish to foreigners, develops teaching methods, conducts common studies with institutions and organizations in Turkey and abroad with the aim of teaching Turkish as well as ultimately promoting Turkey and Turkish culture.


When was TÖMER founded? Where are we?


TÖMER was founded in 2013, in accordance with law 28574, and printed in the Official Gazette, dated March 1, 2013.


TÖMER is located on the Kurttepe Campus, Belediye Evleri Mahallesi Turgut Özal Bulvarı Adana Ruh Sağlığı Hastanesi Karşısı No:241, Çukurova Adana.


How long does a language course take in TÖMER?


TÖMER offers language courses between September and June. Depending on the demand, summer courses are also available. (You can find detailed information on our webpage, under the Course Fee and Programs tab.)


How are classes in TÖMER? How are the lessons conducted?


Classrooms are arranged in a U-shaped array and seat 10-17 students. Lessons are taught by expert instructors in a technologically supported learning environment. Lessons focus on Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills.


Who can attend the course of TÖMER?


Foreign students living in Adana have first priority, but foreigners who are in Adana for various reasons and want to learn Turkish can attend our courses, as well.


Can I receive a Certificate at the End of the Course?


Students who complete Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels are awarded with certificates.


I know some Turkish. Should I take a Placement Test?


ADANA STU TÖMER administers the Placement Test to every student. The level at which they will begin their courses is determined by the result of that test.


Can I learn about course fees?


Course fees vary according to course hours. Further information can be found under the “Course fees and programs” tab on our webpage.


Can I pay with instalment or receive a discount?


You can pay by instalment.


A discount is available for:


Adana STU students:  20%,


Adana STU staff, their spouse and children: 25%,


When a minimum of 10 people apply: 15%,


When public institutions apply with a minimum of 15 people:  25%,


For cash payment: 25%,


When the course attendee or his/her spouse holds Turkish citizenship: 25%,


 When a minimum of two siblings apply: 25%


A course attendee may only utilize one sort of discount.


May I get information about the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities which grants scholarships to foreign students?


The Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities is an under secretariat affiliated with the Prime Ministry. This program contributes to the coordination and success of projects which reach our citizens living around the world and also other communities related to us who share our historical and cultural heritage.


The Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities is responsible for providing a successful learning process for international scholarship students who come to Turkey to study.


39 students from Syria, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Somali, Tanzania, Egypt, etc. through the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities will learn Turkish in our center during the 2013-2014 academic year.


These students, after completing their language learning process in our center, will continue their undergraduate, MA or PhD studies in various universities in Turkey.
